UNDEFEATED BABY!!!....but

Don't let the 5-0 record deceive you, we haven't played a team that's above the third lowest team in our conference....we WERE ranked last at the beginning of the season. Oh! And just a quick update on the knee...it's still there, bending, straightening, bending, straightening, slightly bending and straightening...all day long. Ahem...moving on. Doc called today and we chit chatted about ya know the weather, Hawaii, Rachel, girls, surfing, school...wait...wrong doctor. Let's try this again so I went in to the dr office and started talking about school, and focusing and church and focusing and something else I can't remember. Hold on, nope still not the right doc. Door #3... my KNEE doctor called and said I can start to do anything 25%-50% right now (which translates to 95%-98% in my head) then after a couple weeks do 50%-75% (again 100%-karaoke on a high wire) and then another few weeks 75%-100% or basically shuffling sideways on hot coals. Of course this is all paraphrased, but I think you get the gist of it. Naturally there were a few "don't's" and "don't ever's" and if I recall there was a "don't under any circumstance..." whoa good thing I didn't take my ADD pills or else I'd probably be held responsible for what he said after that because I don't remember. Back on the field the week before my birthday!! And here is the write up from our game...as usual

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team continued their strong early season today by defeating Chaminade in a non-conference match 2-0. The Seasiders, who have already surpassed last season’s win total improved to 5-0 on the year behind a pair of second-half goals and a strong defensive effort that included playing a man short for the final 27:11 of the game.

After a scoreless first half, the Seasiders broke through in the 51st minute when sophomore Bent Jenson dribbled through the defense down the left side and blasted a shot past the goalie into the right side of the net. Jenson’s unassisted goal was his third of the season.

The Seasiders were given a red card in the 63rd minute and were forced to play short-handed the rest of the way, causing some anxiety in the Seasider faithful. However, freshman Dillon Richens did a great job of allaying the BYU-Hawaii fears when he headed in a goal off a free kick from Eric Lowe in the 72nd minute. Richens second goal of the year gave the Seasiders a much-needed cushion and the defense held firm the remainder of the game.

BYU-Hawaii goalie Josiah Holtz turned in another strong performance, saving four shots before being relieved late in the game.

With the loss, Chaminade fell to 0-5-1 for the season. The Seasiders out-shot the Silverswords 12-8 for the match.

BYU–Hawaii will be in action again on September 26th against Grand Canyon in Laie at 3:00 pm in a Pacific West Conference match.

Hawaii so far

Well so far it's been great! Last night we went and watched the New Zealand vs. Tonga rugby match it was crazy! I haven't seen people get that nuts since Justin Bieber's movie came out! The other pic is of a sign I saw in the girls lounge...only at a BYU would that be posted. The picture with the gash in the dudes head is when our keeper and our forwards knee met. The goalie got the short end of the stick.
